Motivation To Be Fit

Over the years post high school, I go back and forth on my weight. I will get to a point we’re I am just no happy nor comfortable with the shape of my figure. I also start to lose the weight, but once I get to a certain point, I stop and start to eventually gain it all back.

We have all been there…

Starting a workout routine is like starting a new job some place. You are excited to start this new eventure and see where it takes you. You are nervous because you are unsure if you’ll like it, but you need this in your life. Once you are there for a few months, you are shocked by how much time has passed and how good you’ve become.

My problem is, once I get to a certain point, I get bored. I know my figure will never look like it did back in my track and field days. I was fit. I felt great about myself. When looking in the mirror, after several months of working out, I just don’t see the results fast enough. Or, I simply become bored and find other things that peak my interest more.

Motivation…

This is what is needed to keep yourself involved. This is what you need to keep yourself moving towards your end goal. Unfortunately, I tend to start to loose this motivation.

Need Some Motivation…

What keeps you motivated?

What routines have worked for you?

What have you done to change your life to get yourself into a healthy lifestyle?

Struggling…

I need some motivation, now more than ever, to get myself back on a healthy routine. I work from home and have many workout programs in my DVD collection. I just, for the life of me, can not figure out how to jump start this routine.

Any suggestions and/or advise would be greatful.

Please comment and let me know what keeps you motivated and what you have found works best for you.

The diet…

Life is tough sticking to healthy choices. With all the unhealthy choices in this world, it is hard to stay on the right path, but I am getting better at it.

It all starts in the kitchen…

WATER! WATER! WATER! I cannot be more serious about that. Soda, beer, liqueur, and even milk can cause your body not to slim down. In fact, most can deteriorate your muscle and also add fat, instead of reducing/eliminating fat.

More will be added to this! Stay tuned…

How My Life Has Changed…

Almost six months ago it was the first of the year… I told myself, as the ball dropped, that this new year will be the follow-up to last years “being my year”.  I told myself that it was time to seek hope.  It was time to seek life.  It was time to seek love.

As the year started… everything seemed like it was the same ol’ same ol’.  I didn’t notice anything changing.  I seemed to continue to walk the same path that I had for the past year.  It seemed no matter how hard I actually tried, I couldn’t push myself into a new direction.

I was talking to someone online from time to time that I had hopes for, but I knew in the back of my mind that it wouldn’t lead to anything… story of my life. lol  However, Valentine’s Day was coming and I thought to myself… Maybe she’ll want to be my date?  I asked her and was shot down, but something else arose from my question… she asked me on a date the week before.

We ended up going out to a restaurant a few days after that conversation.  We went one evening after I got off of work (Thursday night, Feb 7th) to Scotty’s Brewhouse.  We had a great time.  The dinner was fantastic.  The conversation was fantastic.  The mood was fantastic.  It seemed like we both really enjoyed each other’s company.

Flash forward to today…

We have moved in together and have a love for each other that seems, hmmmm… almost as if we have known each other all of our lives.  Maybe it was from a past life??? Maybe true love/soulmates really do exist.  I really do not know how or why, but I do know that it feels like home.  It feels like I have never been complete until she was introduced into my life.

My family loves spending time with her.  She loves spending time with my family.  A BIG DIFFERENCE from my past relationships, and this is something that is very important to me.  I love spending time with her family, as well as they love spending time with me.  Everyone has accepted our relationship and has approved of our relationship… not that we need the approval; however, it is nice when family stands behind you and supports your decision.

We both have started to workout… become more fit… Get active.  However you would like to word it.  I have seen a major change in my health.  I have gone from 235+ lbs to 198 as of yesterday.  My body is becoming more toned as I hit the weights hard and use Insanity as my cardio.  My lady has seen her body tone up and become more stronger.

I am for sure that many more changes and surprises are still to come with this relationship.  We have a chemistry that I have never experienced before, and it is an amazing feeling.  I can’t wait to see what the future holds…

A Glimpse Into My Life… Pt. XVIII

insanitypicture

About eight weeks ago, I decided it was time to change my health. Moving in to the girlfriends house presented a new opportunity for me in this area. For her birthday last year, she asked for Insanity. Insanity is a crazy, crazy workout. This workout pushes you past a point you didn’t know existed time and time again.

Once moved in, we both were invited to attend a family trip to Florida. Once we accepted the invite, we both decided it was time to shape up or shut up. We have been kicking our own asses for seven weeks straight now, and the results are nothing but amazing.

Above is a picture taken at Day 1 and at Day 30 of a 60-day workout plan. As you can see, my stomach goes through a very nice transition in just the first month. I started with weighing above 235 lbs; as of today, I weigh 207 lbs. I have lost 30 lbs in the first 30 days.

I purchased myself a HRM (Heart Rate Monitor), so I can accurately see how many calories I burn during my workouts. I usually burn about 900 calories for every one hour of working out. That is an amazing workout to be burning that many. I also have changed my eating habits. I eat healthy, for the most part, now. I drink a lot of water throughout the day to help flush out the system. Also, I take vitamins to make sure my body is getting all the nutrition it needs.

I will post the 60 Day pictures in a few weeks… And then at that moment, I will continue this workout every other day, plus going to the gym three days a week for toning/shaping using weights. My goal is to be below 180 before we head to Florida at the end of the second week of July.
