Marriage happens…

“[Marriage] happens as with cages: the birds without despair to get in, and those within despair of getting out.” *
― Michel de Montaigne

*I am not saying I will never find love again, but simply stating that, in light of facing a truth, being single has as many advantages as being married does.

My life, as it is today, is happy that I am not married… Why?  Well, because I enjoy flirting and meeting new people.  When you get into a relationship… it seems to start to cripple my strengths.  I am a people person.  Many people are not.  I enjoy flirting.  Many relationships see this as a sign of cheating.  So why would I tie myself down if I can be better off flying solo?

I won’t let love fly by without notice though.  If there so happens to be woman out there than can handle my personality and sense of humor, then I will be happy to look into the possibilities of being with said woman.  However, it seems to me that this is harder than one would think.  There are over 7 billion people on this planet… I am sure there is a woman out there that I am attracted to that is attracted to me and can handle me. lol

But until said woman walks into my life… I will continue to be me!

Because It Was Written… Pt. I

US-Constitution

There is always an argument for each side of the table when it comes to politics.  Fortunately… we live in a Nation were we have the right to voice our opinions, and because of our ‘Rights’, you and I can speak freely.  We live in a World, if you will, that has emotions at every corner.  Some of these emotions are to the extreme, and some of these emotions keep everyone calm.

The “Because It Was Written” posts will talk about “our rights” that were given to every American through the Bill of Rights.  Today, instead of talking about the 1st Amendment, I will go out-of-order and talk about the 2nd Amendment.  This has been a very heated topic in the media, in the government, and amongst family and friends, as of late.

2nd Amendment

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

Translation (if you need help understanding):  The individual right to be armed will be respected, and that the resulting armed citizens will be secure against tyranny, invasion, and/or crime.

The 2nd Amendment is in place to protect the people from a government takeover, essentially.  The founding fathers were very careful in how they worded this Amendment.  They wanted to make sure that it was written to protect the American people in case an event like the Revolution War ever happened again.  We, the people, have the right to “bear arms”.  They choose the word “arms” so it wouldn’t be constrained to a certain type of weapon.

When someone tells you to arm yourself… you will grab whatever is available to arm yourself with.  You hope the arm you are using to protect yourself with will be equal to or better than the arm your opponent has.  This is essential.  This is a big reason for using the word “arms”.  We, the people, have the right to purchase, possess, and use the same arms our governing military can use.  Our founding fathers wanted to make sure the people can protect themselves, like the Government, from an event of tyranny.

Over the past couple of decades, this Amendment has been attacked by our leaders in Washington, D.C.  Why the attack?  Many Democrat elected officials believe that guns are evil.  They seem to have an agenda to restrict and/or do away with the 2nd Amendment.  What’s interesting… many civilians that vote Democrat do not support this, so how are these elected officials speaking for their people?  With recent events in gun-free zones, that has happened around the country, the Left has tried to convince the American people that these “assault rifles” and/or “military style weapons” should be banned.  What makes a rifle “assault”?  Can anyone explain what “military style weapons” are? The Left are smart in this one area… they are being so vague to eventually outlaw every “arm”.

The statement “My right to own a gun is what protects your right to tell me I can’t” is a very true statement.  The minute the government makes weapons illegal to the people, will be the beginning of the end of America as we once knew it.  It will also be the beginning of a revolutionary war to fight back for what is “our” land, “our” right.  If history has taught us anything… countries that have disarmed their citizens have been taking over by a Socialist Government.  A government, which history has showed us, isn’t for the people.  We, the people, will loose all rights we have fought for since the beginning of America.

Some people think my views are extreme, however; I would like to remind you that as extreme as you may think they are… these events have happened, and history always will repeat itself unless we learn from it.

Amazes Me, Pt. V

WhatDifDoesItMake

Really… Seriously… I can name a few differences that it does makes, Hillary Clinton.  Since you are the Secretary of State, why don’t your Dems keep telling us how many miles you have traveled and/or how you’re the best Secretary of State of all time instead of asking real questions that most Americans want answers too.

Amazes Me, Pt. IV

By now… I am sure everyone has seen or heard about the press conference President Obama had yesterday regarding violence and signing executive orders that are about weapons that are labeled “assault rifles”.  What bothers me more… is the approach he took during the press conference…

Obama_Gun_ControlIn the above picture… you see President Obama signing his executive orders, and behind him you see four children watching him.  These four children seem happy… excited even, to be there, and even gave our President hugs and “high-five’s” during this time.

Hitler_Children

In the above picture… you see Hitler after signing into place his ban on weapons.  What is interesting with this picture and the above picture are the children.  Four kids in each picture. Two girls and two boys in each picture.  Female, boy, female, boy in that order in each picture.  All children look to be interested in whats happening.

What the above picture doesn’t show is the consequences of Hitler’s actions on this day.  I am not implying nor saying that Obama and Washington have the same agenda… but I am saying that both these pictures have scary similarities.

What are your thoughts about the Executive Orders Obama signed on Jan 16th?  Do you think a ban on assault weapons is the answer to the current violence taking place in America?  Do you think this ban doesn’t matter because criminals will use whatever they want anyways? Do you feel more or less Government should be involved?  Let me know in the comment section below…

A Glimpse Into My Life… Pt. XIII

chivalry

Men are suppose to be stronge.  Men are suppose to be brave.  Men aren’t suppose to cry. Men aren’t suppose to be needy.  Men aren’t suppose to… Men are suppose to…

Blah blah blah blahhhhhhhhhh…

What makes a man a man?  At what point does another man or woman get to call out a man for his unmanliness?  I have been through this time and time again… and I’m over here thinking, am I really that different?

Unlike ‘real’ men… which, in my opinion, aren’t ‘real men’, I do cry.  You catch me watching a chick flick and you may catch me having watered eyes.  I am needy.  What grown man doesn’t want a lady there for them.  What grown man doesn’t want a strong woman by their side?  And by strong… I don’t mean can change the lightbulb… I mean, can be there to support you and lift you up when things aren’t going your way. Who wouldn’t want that?

I have had many people tell me that I get too serious too quickly… I can’t help that I wear my heart on my sleeve, and I can’t help that I try to fully trust a lady with my heart every time.  I do fall for someone quickly.  I do set my mind on someone I am in interest in, and I do try to learn everything about that someone.  I joke about it… but I call it ‘studying’.  Woman love a man that can remember things they have mentioned… or at least I thought they did.

I see so many woman that complain about their man, or a man, never listening to them.  ‘It goes through one ear and out the other’ with these men these women talk about.  Well… guess what… I am a listener.  I am also a note taker.  You tell me something you don’t like or do like… you can believe I try my hardest to pay attention to that so I can try to impress you at a later time.

I am romantic.  I am a gentleman.  I still believe in opening the door for a lady.  I still believe in paying the tab.  When dropping a lady off at their place, I stay until I see them fully enter their house and turn on a light.  I remember when birthdays are.  I remember when we first met.  Where we first met.  I know these things are important to you, so I make the effort to show you how important they are to me too.

If this isn’t signs of being a ‘real’ man… than maybe the ‘real’ woman doesn’t exist anymore… something to think about.

Goals for 2013…

goals-for-2013I dedicated 2012 for a year to improve myself… and although I didn’t quite get everything accomplished that I wanted to in that year, I did accomplish many things.  2013 is going to be a continuation of finishing my goals and I have set new ones as well.

Goals for 2013:

  • Family:  I want to continue to grow closer to my family.  I want to get to know my nephews/nieces better.  I want to get closer with my younger brother.  I want to be there for my other brothers and sister when they need me to.  I love my parents, and I want to make sure they know how much I do, and how much I appreciate them.
  • Friends:  My true friends haven’t changed one bit over this past year.  I love each and every one of them.  I have come to know who my true friends are over this past year, and I am thankful for each and every one of you.  Over this next year, I want to strengthen these relationships.  I want to be there for them whenever they need a friend near, as I would hope they would be there for me.
  • Job:  I want to further my skills within my company to become an even better person. I want to be able to have the abilities to handle many of the task thrown my way, and I want to show my boss that I am capable of handling this position, without question.  I also want to branch out into the entertainment industry and become a DJ.  I am saving up for the equipment, which should be purchased by March, and I hope I can excel in this industry and make a name for myself.
  • Blog:  I am now running a few different sites.  I want to improve my postings throughout this year.  I post on here, my poetry blog, and my new DJ blog.  You can find all my social media/blog information at robert1ee.com.  I want to get a following by posting information or insightful thinking that my readers are interested in reading.
  • Personal:  I want to improve myself more by trying to be 100% honest with myself.  I am not happy with my current weight, so I need to get back on a healthy workout plan to get myself back in shape.  I have considered joining the ‘Body by V’ Challenge which I know a certain someone that would be very happy to get me on board with that challenge.  I also want to improve my behavior skills.  Looking over the 2012 year, I felt I was in a depressed state of mind for more of that year than what I really wanted to be.  I need to get my mind set to stay positive.  In order to stay positive I must change a few things: (1) Stay 100% with myself; (2) Don’t say yes to people when I’m saying ‘no’ to myself; (3) Become happy with my health; (4) Surround myself with people that will keep me in a better state of mind.  But most of all… don’t lose myself. Who I am people love.  People know Robert as the light of the party and as a fun guy to be around.  I enjoy being that person, but to make myself love being that person, I must improve myself in the areas I mentioned above.

There are going to be changes in my life in 2013… And if you don’t believe me, just watch.

2012 was my year… 2013 will be the foundation for the rest of my life.

the end and the beginning…

As this year has come to an end… I look back at everything that has happened this year, and I am grateful. I told myself to make 2012 my year… And I think I had a great year in doing just that.

I started the year off with a great birthday party with amazing friends. I love each and every one of you. You have no idea how much your presence helped me get through this year.

I finalized my divorce. That was a hard one. I need to move on with my life, as did she, and so as we closed this chapter in our lives, we both have moved on to live our own lives.

Very close friends of mine became engaged! I couldn’t be more happy for the two of them! Tiffany and Aaron, you two are amazing and I can’t wait to see you two on your wedding day! Love you guys!

I officially broke into the DJ business. I did two parties and everyone had positive comments on how I performed. That has made me decide to get into this business and start doing gigs. My first wedding is already booked, and I can’t wait to make memories for them.

I feel my best friend and I have spent more time this year hanging out than many of the past years. I love her and her daughter to death. They both are amazing people in my life, and without them, it would be hard to make it through some weeks.

My sister got married and had a baby! She is also expecting a second one that will be due in 2013. Her husband, Kane, is a wonderful guy and I’m glad he is my brother-in-law. He is a great addition to our crazy family! Lol. You two are perfect for each other. Love you guys!

My personally life wasn’t as great as I had hoped it would be… However; this year wasn’t about me having relations, it was about growing myself and finding myself. I went through many personal changes and have started to improve myself in many ways.

My roommate, Christyna Smith, has been amazing. Right when I absolutely needed a roommate, you just happened to want to be my roommate. You are an amazing woman, you are an amazing cook, and you actually like to helps keep the house clean. Thank you for everything.

I have met many new friends along this year, and I have lost many friends this year too. People will come and go in your life, and that’s ok. I have learned to let go and let the past be the past. Which is always very hard for me to do.

I started working for a new company this year that has been amazingly beyond my expectations. Not only does this job fulfill my goals of working in a field of my degree, but it is a very fast pace, exciting, and motivating opportunity as well. I love this job, I have an amazing boss, and I can’t wait to see what 2013 will become of our company.

I hope everyone had amazing year and let’s make 2013 another amazing year!

P.S. If I forgot to mention you… No worries, I’m just trying to write a quick summary of the year, and I’ll add to this as more memories come to mind.
